Here are more pictures from our adventures at the Lego Brickfair. Pay attention to the detail in each picture. It's amazing! And in some photos, there will be people (mostly grown men and teenage boys!) sitting behind the scenes. They are the creators of these amazing sets.

It's a mad, mad Lego world!

We had a grand adventure today in Chantilly, VA today at the BrickFair! All Legos all day long! There was unique custom made parts and accessories as well as table after table of displays. The boys had so much fun. It was almost more than you could see in one day.

There were underground apocalyptic scenes and homes with crop circles (look closely!). There was some serious towns with lots happening. Castles and warriors with creatures from LOTR. Fairy forests with waterfalls.

Everywhere we turned there was something amazing to see. If you like Legos and ever get the chance to go, I recommend it!

1:31am.

I have friends and family that love to be the first ones up. They love the quiet time. Early in the morning.

Me? I prefer my quiet time very late in the night. It’s 1:31am. My house is quiet. Everyone is asleep but me.

It’s just me and the sound of 2 different clocks. That would bother some people. But they are special clocks to me. One belonged to my grandmother. It chimes. I love it. The other belonged to my lss before they had to close. I got the privilege of customizing it while it hung in the store. She was kind enough to give it to me when she closed the doors. I love it, too.

Special.

It’s a special time of night for me. Sometimes I create. Sometimes I read my bible. Sometimes I watch tv. Sometimes I create while I talk to the Lord.

Sometimes I go to bed because I’m exhausted by 1:31am. Most nights I have to force myself to go to bed. Looks like this is one of those nights.

Not sure why I felt the need to post this. I know I haven’t posted anything in a long time. But I have been busy. With school. With church. With life.

I don’t journal but this just felt like the right thing to do.

Big News!

Hello all! I have new canvases and they are for sale at Wish! I’m super excited because I took 3 and sold one in just a few hours. And Amy, the owner, can’t wait for me to bring in more. Here are pictures of the two left for sale.

Boys and azaleas

Every year for the past couple of years, I have take a picture of the boys by our azalea bush. They moan and I force them to do it but it always makes a great picture. Here is this year’s picture. Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and remember that God loves you.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy though. Here are a few of my recent canvases:

The first two were made for my church to use during service.

This one above is my favorite. I love the colors and how it turned out. It is titled “The Promises of God”.

And her are a few smaller ones I have been working on. I’m hoping to take these up to the New River to sell at the Draper Mercantile.

A birthday party–finally!

Well, after a week and a half of sick children, 2 visits to the doctor, numerous trips to the drug store and a total of 4 days missed between 2 boys, everyone is well at my house. And best of all, Gabe finally got to have his 9th birthday party this past weekend. His 2 best buds came. He had cake and gifts and pizza. What’s better than that??

Stamps!!!

I am having so much fun making my own stamps from the Speedball Stamp kit that came in January’s Mixed Media Kit from Scarlet Lime! I have made a total of 5 stamps with the one block of rubber (or whatever that pink stuff is!) that was included in the starter kit. My favorite would have to be the positive and negative tulip stamps. Love how they turned out!

You can order the stamp kit from Christy Tomlinson’s shop. The stamps are super easy to make. The block carves like butter with the 2 carving tips included. Just be sure to give your stamp some thought before you start carving.

One sick little boy

Gabe turned 9 years old on Wednesday, January 25th! We took the family (including Grandparents) to CiCi’s for pizza and Gabe got to make his own pizza again this year. He was super excited. He got a Razor skateboard from Nana and Papa, Angry Birds plush toys from his brother and Jeff and I gave him the longest Nerf gun in history. But the best gift of all was a new bed from his Aunt Wendy and Uncle David. He went from an ancient twin bed to a brand new full size bed. He was very excited!


But then, the day before his party with some of his best buddies he got sick. He has a very bad cold, complete with runny nose, sore throat, fever and coughing. Yuck. And he’s been to see the doctor twice. He will miss at least 3 days of school. The birthday party has been rescheduled; thankfully everyone could still come.
